Our mission is to assist, serve, and support those who are in need in our community, develop leadership skills among our membership, and promote mother-son relationships.
YMSL Las Vegas Chapter
YMSL Las Vegas was established in early 2012 when a small group of women met to discuss the idea of promoting philanthropy in the community and leadership in their sons. Kristen Beling Dougherty, Yvonne Dobberstein, Stacia Lemke, Julia Spataro, Sylvia von Hake, and Connie Mulick began the process and, within a few months, the board grew to include Teri Heinz, Lisa Molchon, Michelle Haun, Karen Wofford and Myra-Joy Miao. Together, they engineered the foundation of YMSL Las Vegas. By May, we began our mission with two full classes of young men and their moms. We now have a full chapter including 4 classes of boys in grades 9 through 12 and we continue to serve more than 20 local philanthropies. Our mission is to assist, serve and support those who are in need in our community, promote leadership in our sons, and enhance the mother-son relationship.
YMSL is a four year commitment, beginning with young men enrolling at the end of 8th grade. It incorporates engaging speakers, activities, and topics relevant to young men and their moms. All moms contribute to the organization by serving as mentors and modeling service alongside their sons. Every mom and son contribute to the success of the organization by holding a leadership position. We look forward to continued growth and service, while forming lasting memories with our sons.
